It’s time to get a Taste of Orange Lane Cove – the emerging gourmet and wine growing destination of Orange NSW will be starring during Lane Cove’s ‘Food and Wine by the River’ event on Sunday 6 November at Tambourine Bay Reserve, Riverview.
The Orange region in Central NSW is fast becoming known for its exceptional food, fresh produce and cool-climate wines – and 17 food and wine stallholders will be featuring as the ambassadors for Taste Orange Lane Cove for the ‘Food and Wine by the River’ event on Sunday 6 November 2016.
Premium local wineries will represented including Cargo Road Wines, Heifer Station, Highland Heritage Estate, Montoro Wines, Ross Hill Wines, Sassy Wines, Strawhouse Wines and Twisted River Wines.
Award-winning cider maker, Small Acres Cyder will also have a stall alongside local foodies Chateau du Chocolat, Franklin Road Kitchen, Greentrees Preserves, and Second Mouse Cheese Company. Fresh produce will be available straight from the orchard at the Hillside Harvest stall.
Augmenting the local stallholder experience will be Sydney foodies – Eat Street, Serendipity Icecream and Sofrito Paella – who will be using produce and ingredients sourced from the Orange region.
Soak up the sunshine with friends and family while enjoying some of New South Wales’ finest cool-climate wine, food and fresh produce. Lane Cove residents, their friends and family, and visitors are all invited to join in the fun for a fantastic Sunday afternoon wine and food adventure by the river. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day including local musician, Josh Maynard.
The ‘Food and Wine by the River’ event is run by Lane Cove Council and proudly sponsored by Orange City Council, as part of its ‘Visit Orange’ campaign which is aimed at inspiring visitors to explore the Orange region (just a scenic 3.5 hour drive from Sydney) and its many vineyards, cellar doors, cafés, restaurants, farm gates and wine bars.
On the day there will be a competition running to win a ‘Weekend for Two’ getaway to Orange, including 2 nights’ accommodation at Hotel Canobolas, a full-day wine-tasting tour of the vineyards with Central West Getaways, a welcome hamper from The Agrestic Grocer full of local goodies, morning tea for two people at The Agrestic Grocer, a dinner for two at Scrumptious on Summer Café, and a mixed dozen of local wines.
Entries will be accepted in person at the Brand Orange stall at the event.
‘Food and Wine by the River’ is a licensed event with no BYO or glass.
This event is the signature event of Lane Cove Council’s Festival by the River which runs from 1 – 13 November 2016.
