New season, new look for JAZZ™ apple

The first of T&G Global’s premium new season JAZZ™ apples are being shipped to global markets, as warm and sunny weather conditions bring a rich colour, full flavour and earlier harvest than usual for the ‘snack on the go’ fruit.

Grown in the Hawke’s Bay, Nelson and Otago, JAZZ™ apples are being picked and packed and will continued to be shipped to global markets over the coming weeks with the first shipment leaving Napier Port last week bound for the United Kingdom. Another shipment currently being loaded for the UK and Europe markets, leaves Napier Port next week with 2.8 million JAZZ™ apples on board.

T&G Head of Marketing, Rebecca Chapman, says the premium JAZZ™ apple is popular with consumers all over the world, who are eagerly awaiting the start of the New Zealand season.

“First grown in New Zealand 25 years ago, today JAZZ™ apples are a Kiwi household favourite and loved by consumers around the world. Grown under license in 10 countries, they’re exported to more than 45 countries and available all year round. Last year, we sold 5 million JAZZ™ cartons.

This year, T&G has strengthened the much-loved brand with a refreshed look and feel. The crisper new look further reinforces the ‘always refreshing’ JAZZ™ tag line and on the go occasion, with vibrant refreshed colours. Over the coming months, it will be rolled out across global markets, starting with the United States and Japan.

“The refreshed JAZZ™ look was co-developed with consumers to make our premium apples stand out from the pack.

“Extensive consumer research in Asia, the United States and Europe identified that the balanced tangy-sweet flavour of JAZZ™ and its ideal size is what consumers are looking for between meals, as a refreshing snack.

“The brand refresh is a key component of a much broader strategy to position JAZZ™ as the ideal snack on the go and reinforces its unique qualities,” says Rebecca.
